Legend has it that Goddess Vishnumaya, embodied as Lopamudra wed sage Agastya during their earthly existence. In a period of drought, Lopamudra assumed her liquid form within Agastya's brass pot. Accidentally spilled, she flowed through Kodagu, India, revitalizing the parched land, transforming it into a verdant oasis. Today Kaveri symbolizes renewal and is worshipped in Kodagu, a river that gave her life to the land.
